After launching a preview last year, Microsoft has now released it’s Planner app to all Office 365 users.
Planner is a project management/team collaboration app for it’s Office 365 suite. The app lets teams create boards for projects with tasks that can be assigned to members along with a due date, attachments and conversations.
Planner gives you a visual overview of your team’s progress against deadlines with charts. It also lets you quickly alter tasks among members to help keep things on schedule.
If you’re an Office 365 user, there’s nothing you need to do to get the app. The Planner tile will automatically appear in your Office 365 launcher as soon as it becomes available to you. Microsoft states that the roll-out is planned “over the next several weeks”, so you may need to wait before it appears.
Currently Microsoft doesn’t have a native mobile app for Planner, so you will have to rely on logging into the service from your browser and receiving update notifications via email.
